With a few rare exceptions, teachers suck, and school sucks, and they always have. An intelligent person can educate themselves by reading and paying attention.
America was a much better country when kids got a job after they graduated high school. The more emphasis that was placed on higher education, the worse education got all the way around.
For decades as pointed out the Seattle School District has be doing stupid things. One of my favorites from way back when was a set of teacher training seminars that tried to brainwash teachers into believing that.
1) assigning or demanding students do homework was racist
2) not accepting proper spelling or grammar was racist
3) showing up for class on time or even at all was a racist demand upon students
4) classes like math and science were racist if there were only on answer that was scored correctly.
5) demanding civility in the classroom and respect for the teacher was racists.
The list went on and on.
Little would surprise me about the horrors of the Seattle School District or the Seattle City Council
