Don’t blame all New Yorkers; blame NYC New Yorkers. Except for a few enemy strongholds, most of upstate NY is red.
In this case we are speaking explicitly of NYC so no offense was intended to the good people of Upstate New York.
Just as in Illinois, don’t blame the rest of the state for Chicago.
Before I retired, I worked in downtown Chicago. I retired more than five years ago. I have not set foot in Chicago — or in Cook County, for that matter — since the day I retired. And I doubt I ever will.
