And do we think that Russian military won’t destroy Ukraine tanks first?

Russia unveils new anti-tank missile for battle helicopters and new era drones

Science & Tech
Sept 15 2021
Nikolai Litovkin

The Kalashnikov Concern unveiled a new anti-tank missile dubbed ‘Vihr-1’ at the ‘Army 2021’ military exhibition outside Moscow in late August 2021.

The projectile is set to nullify capabilities of all latest tank armor sets, thus making it the perfect weapon to shoot down heavily armored machines in any upcoming wars of the 21st century.

The ‘Vihr-1’ presents in itself a modernised version of anti-tank missiles previously constructed in Russia. Engineers at one of Kalashnikov’s subsidiaries that specialises in creating helicopter projectiles compare it with its direct analogue - the ‘Ataka’ missile - and say that the new projectile has increased firepower and range compared to the existing anti-tank missiles on the Russian market. The new one has a range of 10 kilometers (nearly double that of the ‘Ataka’) and was created to penetrate even an ‘Abrams’ tank active armor set.

Vitaly Kuzmin

“It can do so due to two warheads installed into one missile. The rocket explodes twice - the first warhead destroys the active upper layers of armor, while the other warhead explodes a millisec after the first and burns through the metal inside of the machine,” explains Alexey Ramm, a military analyst at ‘Izvestia’ newspaper.

The weapon can burn through 150 mm of tank armor and is set to be able to eliminate even the most advanced machines on the weapon market.
How the ‘Vihr-1’ will be used

“Sounds pretty easy for Russia to win then...”

Actually, yes, if they don’t fight a politically correct war and just went balls to the wall.

If and it is a big if the headline is correct and the Javelins all have Putin’s name on them, it may be the most juvenile stunt yet by the Dimjo Administration and had to be thought up by the absolute most senior official in the Dimjo Administration.

It was probably his idea alone.

“...and Ukraine is just caught in the middle.”

Except that Ukraine is receiving a lot of Western assistance because of the perceived threat from Russia. Absent the Russia threat, the West would have zero interest in Ukraine and would send it no money or weapons or trainers. At the same time, it is hard for an economy to do very well if the invasion fear is too intense. So it seems like a bit of a tightrope.

Agree. Yet we got people on this forum that would like to see a full blown conflict start that we have no business getting into. They really seem to think it will be a cake walk with the Russians.

First off, the Russians hold about a 5 to one advantage in airpower. That is not included helicopters. They have what is most likely the most stealthy submarine ever built out and the NATO navy has lost track of it. The discussion is whether that sub has the capabilities to launch the Russian nuclear tipped torpedo.
Nobody seems to take notice of the Russians paying visits off Hawaii, or off the east coast of the USA.

Even a kid who plays with fire that gets burned learns to stay clear. Not pig face Biden and his cronies though.

Protecting our politicians’ personal interests is not a good reason to get involved in any of this.

If that’s true, then the “deep state” must control Russia too if it was able to force them to make all these belligerent troop movements and blustering public statements.

Its quite the opposite. Russia has shown no photos or reports of troop movements. There are no propagandistic videos of rockets being launched or tanks rolling down streets, as I see on CBS evening news here. Its not an item on its evening news. They report tensions in Ukraine, but aren't telling anyone in Russia to prepare for war. Isn't that odd for a country which is going to occupy itself and its population in a long war in Ukraine?

What proof do you have that Russia has masses of troops poised, ready to invade? Think about it - who is telling you this?

NATO on the Ukraine border with Russia would put German troops about where they were in December 1942 - January 1943

“Russia has shown no photos or reports of troop movements.”

Troop movements can still be belligerent even if you don’t announce them. In fact, belligerent troop movements that states attempt to conceal are the ones you may actually have to be worried about.

“What proof do you have that Russia has masses of troops poised, ready to invade?”

Russia admitted them already, week ago, so it’s far too late to try to deny them on Russia’s behalf!

Many of us twenty-plus veterans of Free Republic have seen that some of the recent freepers have no idea about history of how wars have been pushed by warmonger Democrats and their fellow neo-cons, started and ended very badly for thousands of young women and men.

As I recall, they fought that kind of war in Afghanistan and lost.

I wonder how much they will bring on the black market once they give up or meld with the “invaders”.

Meanwhile, the Ruskies are quietly reconstructing a “defense” pact with Cuba. Maybe the jamoka we have in the white hut can rearm the nike base in the Everglades with Patriot missiles.

If there is a war and Russia loses, look for Finland, Sweden, Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova to join NATO.
