BackPorchConversations @TheBack_Porch

Do we know if the White House has suggested to Putin that he should vent his frustration by taking a kickboxing class and having a margarita?

Never heard of a proxy war? You may be younger, but in the Cold War years there were a lot of them.

As someone who helped President Barack Obama manage the U.S. and international response to Russia’s initial invasion of Ukraine and the CIA instigate a fake "color revolution" coup in 2014,

* Arm Ukraine - Yes
* Provide training and intelligence - Yes
* Support our allies who want to help - Yes
* Send Americans to die in another war - Hell No

I disagree. We should stay neutral. No arming. No providing intelligence or support. These are all acts of war, and they have a way of escalating.

Vietnam began with arming, then advisors, then a few troops, then a half a million troops.

The US bailed out Europe in two World Wars.

No, the US bailed out England and France.

Had the US not entered World War One, it would likely have ended in a stalemate. No Hitler, no World War Two, no spread of Communism into Eastern Europe.

Russia left Afghan with drug addicts and troops in the worse readiness state. These kids are not ready for combat-are you? Russia left Afghanistan 30 years ago. Their current troops are a new generation.

By contrast, the U.S. just recently left Afghanistan. And our military is full of trannies and women, led by woke generals.

As much as we tend to condemn Chamberlain and Daladier for selling out the Czechs at Munich in 1938, the hard truth is that there was scant public support in Britain and France to resort to war to stop Hitler at that point in time.

It's a little known fact that Poland Joined Hitler in Dismembering Czechoslovakia.

Did this idiotic Obama appointee write this article by finger painting with her own poo? Farkas of the “I know there is more information about Trump’s collusion with Russia to fix the 2016 election” (she left government in 2015) to MSDNC and then “Actually, I knew nothing” to Trey Gowdy under oath. This moron tried to run for Congress in 2020 and got 15% of the vote on the primary. She is a failure in every sense of the word and I suspect she’s sniffing around for another appointment in the Xo Bai Den administration. Probably tired of sitting home alone with her cats and her mediocrity.

Why, Evelyn?

IIRC, weren’t you involved with one of the impeachments of PDJT?

“must” we? I don’t see that we “must” at all.

The Eastern portion of Ukraine is filled with ethnically Russian, and Russian speaking people who would rather be part of Russia. OK. So why not just let them go? Why would the world suddenly come to an end if the Donbas became part of Russia?

Furthermore, why the hell should the US be willing to fight about it? This is not vital to our national security.

I suspect few Americans will be willing to send their kids to defend the Ukraine. You know, the US has been dissed/criticized and ridiculed for 50 years by the Euroweenies. Let them send their sons.

But of course the dirty little secret is that a lot of Europe went ‘Green”, closed their coal and nuclear plants, and rely on Russia for LPG etc to stay warm. So one doubts they will do this...except maybe Poland and the Baltic states, who figures they might be next in line...
