Let’s put the 2A aside for just a moment. Instead let history be our guide. Back in the 1920s the United States tried Prohibition. It was a complete failure. Honest folks had no alcohol. Dishonest folks had all the alcohol they wanted.
The exact same thing would occur should the United States enact draconian restrictions on guns.
