A stray bullet struck and killed an English astrophysicist while he was inside an Atlanta-area apartment, authorities say.
Matthew Willson, 31, of Chertsey, Surrey, England, was visiting his girlfriend in the United States when he was hit by a bullet that pierced the wall of the apartment. The shooting happened early Sunday morning, only three days into his visit.
“He was supposed to be here for three months because we’ve been long distance for a while,” Katherine Shepard, his girlfriend of three years, told WSB-TV. “I picked him up from the airport, took him to his favorite eating location, and the next day, he’s gone.”
Shepard, whose apartment is in the Atlanta suburb of Brookhaven, who told the television station that the couple woke up on Jan. 16 to the sound of more than 30 gunshots coming from an apartment complex directly behind Shepard’s. A bullet traveled through Shepard’s wall, hitting Willson, she said.
“I held him for another 20 minutes while we waited for the ambulance,” she said. “And while we were waiting, there were more gunshots fired.”
Police were in the vicinity pursuing reports of gunfire when the 911 call from Shepard came in. Sgt. Jake Kissel of the Brookhaven criminal investigations division said that once officers arrived at the scene, they rendered aid until paramedics arrived.
“Dr. Willson was transported to a local trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries,” Kissel said in a statement. The shooting appeared to be a “random act involving individuals participating in the reckless discharge” of firearms.
Willson was being mourned by family, friends and his alma mater, the University of Exeter.

“’m surprised the left hasn’t already employed the same tactics they’re using with the Jab to socially ostracize anyone owning a firearm.”
They have. I work with and bunch of leftist and most of my family are leftists. Their beliefs about guns and gun owners are about the same as unvaxxed people. They don’t talk about it in open but they have the same level of anger and resentment. But they can’t do anything about it.

Don’t underestimate them. They are developing, testing, and deploying networks, getting Xiden judges appointed, tools, strategies and tactics via the CCP virus restrictions on freedom for implementation of other emerging “public health crises” - climate hoax and private ownership of guns. A few of the lower level politicians have let it slip out during some seemingly uncontroversial pressers.
The REAL question is, where do these gutter-snipes get their gons from?

Of course I am a lunatic, yet the gun fire was from outside of the building. Maybe there should be a law to make building walls strong enough to keep gunfire from penetrating and killing a person in another building.
But let's take the guns away from law-abiding white people, that will solve the problem. /s
Only certain areas are like that, as in any big city. It is, sadly, black neighborhoods with black people in charge. Democratic stronghold.
He should have stayed home.

In other words it was a routine drug war battle.
Sad outcome for an innocent person, which is also becoming routine.
“Clairmont Road”, from a Brit source [The Sun].
Calif has passed a new law:
ANY group doing ‘research’ om gun violence will be allowed unfettered access to the complete Calif database of registered gun owners.
Just a question - do they KNOW the bullet that killed him was the one that went through the wall?

This morning from Fernando - British scientist, 31, Killed in Georgia by stray bullet 800 ft. away.
It was in Brookhaven, which is up Peachtree Rd. a few miles north of Buckhead, Lenox Sq Mall, etc. It was a pretty nice area, kind of an older middle class neighborhood that had been gentrified I guess you could say. One of those areas where houses had exploded in price once people noticed it was just a few minutes away from ultra-expensive Buckhead.
“I held him for another 20 minutes while we waited for the ambulance,”
20 minutes for an ambulance for a gunshot victim in Atlanta?
Never, ever depend on the government to help you when it’s needed.
That is sad but not surprising. The lesson to learn from that is that everyone should learn emergency medical procedures, and if a hospital is nearby it may be worthwhile to put together a plan for how to transport a victim to the hospital yourself, or with the help of neighbors.
According to media reports, such as the article shown in the video linked at post 32, the building has a brick exterior. They might be just a thin decorative veneer, or maybe the bullet passed through a window or other surface, but if a brick won't stop the round you are in a situation where your building should probably be a bunker.
Foreign media does the job our mainstream media won't. The video linked in post 32 has images of the front page of a newspaper showing the exact locations of both the victim and the suspected source of the gunfire.
What are the demographics of the Atlanta-area apartment? Is it located in a “no-go” zone?
Here is a story with all of the details, including street addresses, an aerial view from Google Earth, and videos of the surroundings.
It is a terribly sad situation, and whoever was enough of an idiot to discharge a firearm recklessly in that area should spend a long time in the Georgia prison system.
