Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw was caught on video snapping at a young girl at a Texas Tea Party event on Monday evening, earning furious heckling from GOP voters there.
One angry audience member shouted that the girl was just 10 years old.
She had asked the veteran-turned-lawmaker about recent comments he made suggesting Jesus Christ was not 'real' despite publicly declaring himself a devout Christian, during a question session at the at the Montgomery County Tea Party meeting.
'The important thing is that we societal hero archetypes that we look up to. Jesus is a hero archetype, Superman is a hero archetype. Real characters too, I could name a thousand,' the 10-year-old quoted Crenshaw as saying, adding civil rights icon Rosa Parks and former President Ronald Reagan to the list.
She seemed to take issue with him putting Jesus in the same category as Superman.
'I can't wrap my head around this,' she said after reading his own words back to him.
A clearly irate Crenshaw retorted, 'Well, I'll help you.'
'Put a period after the word Jesus and don't question my faith,' he said dryly.
Some in the crowd made expressions of surprise. Then, a trickle of boos turned into a cascade of disapproval directed at the Texas Republican.
'To a 10-year-old girl!' one heckler can be heard shouting. 'Wait to go, guy!'
Another person derided Crenshaw as a 'moron.'
'Don't talk to her like that,' a woman shouted, and another person added: 'Yeah, you don't talk to a kid like that.'
Crenshaw appeared defiant, once again telling the Tea Party members in the room 'Don't question my faith.'
'Oh, okay,' someone off camera quipped sarcastically.
The girl, again referring to the quote she cited, said: 'I can question your faith if this is what you said.'

Blinky McEyepoke everyone.
The very first person to go head to head with him was Kaitlin Bennett over RED FLAG LAWS....
Another Republican POS.
If she was, the person who put her up to it is a lot smarter than Crenshaw, who fell into the trap.
The cancer is very deeply set.
Ha ha.
Every question is a potential set-up. You may not be prepared for a “gotcha” question but you should know how not to over react.
My Twitter link is a video of weasel Crenshaw.
Tea Party events have been infiltrated and subverted since the beginning, unfortunately.
Crenshaw is a deep state tool. He deserves to be ridiculed and shamed.
Agreed. And to assume Crenshaw meant to say Jesus isn't real is a bit of a stretch. It's obvious his statement was spontaneous and the person in the list he had just said was Superman, who is obviously not real.
I get the conservatives hating on Crenshaw some for being a bit anti-Trump. But heck, there were times I was against Trump when he'd remind us that he was into big government solutions and spending (even before covid). Just like I'd take Trump again over Biden or Hillary or even Gary Johnson (who by the way was for a carbon tax, something Trump was against), I count Crenshaw as a net positive instead of a net negative.
I think he has mental issues. Primary him.
The 10 year old girl is a patriot and so are her parents.
Crenshaw is a RINO deep state scum bucket.
Yes, I am trying to remember the last time a 10-year-old used the phrase, “I can’t get my head around that.” Libs are terrible script writers. Terrible writers, in general.
he sure is proving to be a complete loser.
That 10 year old sounded far more mature than he did!
“Of course the 10-year-old girl was not put up to this.”
I have three nephews (home schooled) who ABSOLUTELY would have asked this question without having someone “put them up” to it when they were 10 or under.
Crenshaw told the girl she was ‘twisting’ his words
.
No, she was pinning the weasel down to his exact words.
He’s mad cuz she aimed small.
Atta girl !
.
Well, how about that … I think we’re done here.
