Well seeing as it was the FBI files that purported as such, I believe I’d give Dr. King the benefit of the doubt.
FBI has a long history of political corruption. Dr. King had many enemies. I have absolutely no doubt there were fabrications inserted in this man’s file. No doubt whatsoever.
Let’s assume for a moment that much, if not all, of the information in Dr. King’s FBI file was true. That would matter little to me. Dr. King would still be a great man, as his strengths would still outnumber his weaknesses. King did much to advance what is right in this country.
In that way, he and George Washington were alike.
(I suppose I might catch some flak from others here on FR because of that last comment. I really don’t care.)
