Our astronauts are reliant on Russian rockets to get them back and forth to the international space station; this whole “conflict” is just theater for us little people.
We stood by when Russia invaded Georgia and Ukraine; it is clear we’ve made our deal with them. When we REALLY wanted to help people fight Russians, we sent the Afghan rebels weapons to knock their aircraft out of the sky (and the Soviets withdrew).
Ukraine ranks 117/180 for corruption in 2021. They have improved ,in 2017 they were ranked NINTH most corrupt nation on Earth.
They are the 2nd most corrupt nation in Europe today. So yes it makes no sense to get in a shooting war.
