Due to redistricting in Illinois, Kinzinger’s district was effectively eliminated. If he wanted to run, he would have to run against another incumbent Rep, La Hood. Illinois lost one seat from 18 to 17.

Redistricting has given the Dems two more Dem leaning districts and reduced the Rep leaning districts by 2.
