NOVAK DJOKOVIC won his legal battle to compete at this year's Australian Open on Monday.
Djokovic has allegedly been arrested by the Australian government despite being granted permission to compete at this year's Australian Open on Monday, according to reports. The Serb, who won last year's edition of the tournament, was initially denied entry to the country after seeing his visa revoked upon his arrival earlier this month.
Djokovic was detained in a hotel on Thursday after more detail was demanded with regards to his medical exemption to enter Australia and compete in the first Grand Slam of the new year.
It was eventually ruled on Monday that his visa cancellation order would be immediately quashed and that he would be released from detention.
However, it seems as though Djokovic may still be banned from playing at this month's tournament in Melbourne and deported by government officials in spite of the verdict.
He was arrested shortly after the end of his court case on Monday, with his legal team now weighing up their options as they plan their response, according to The Pavlovic Today.

I’m not a fan of boycott’s, but...
Players need to boycott.
wow.. clown world.. International crisis to prevent the possibility of spreading a cold, which he doesn’t have. Australia is a joke.
This is very much expected, this is an election year and the Govt is desperate.
They have used Djokovic vaccine status to score political points and they are embarrassed that he fought back.
Is this really going to help them?
Information is apparently incorrect according to Australian news sources.
“Novak Djokovic has not been arrested, according to four government and tennis sources.
The Immigration Minister is still deciding whether to re-cancel his visa, The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald has confirmed.”
We really do not need any more misinformation flying around.
Anyway, I can't find the word re-cancel in the dictionary. Is it an Australian word?
Re-cancel isn’t a specifically Australian word as far as I know, but people would understand what it meant if it was used, so it wouldn’t surprise me if it was used.
This is the source this article cites, and it says Djokovic's father said he was arrested. Where is he supposed to be per Australian news?
No, it will definitely not help them.
But it will not stop from trying, as they are embarrassed.

Media reports from Europe quote Djokovic’s family members alleging he has been re-arrested at his lawyers’ office in Melbourne’s CBD.
However, the four sources including some from the federal government insist this isn’t the case.
There are no Border Force or federal police officers at the foot of the CBD tower Djokovic is located in.
Interesting.
Prison colony nazis ...
I’m just looking at live footage of the building and there’s absolutely no sign at all that he’s been arrested. There are Victorian police there (who have no relevant jurisdiction so couldn’t arrest him) but I assume they are there because of the fairly large number of noisy Djokovic supporters who seem way too happy for him to have been arrested.
Says he has inadmissible natural antibodies, not risky vaccine ones.
**** Australia.
If he gets booted, everyone should leave and not play.
After being “re-cancelled”, and “un-visa-ed”, he’s been “un-arrested”?
;)
News reports mention Novak is at his Lawyers office.
This could be probably expecting minister to cancel his visa again and arrest him and hence discussing legal options.
This is unlike Novak to be missing training now considering the AU opens starts soon.
whilst it does not form the basis of the judge’s decision in Djokovic’s favour, this is what should have been the topic of discussion in Australia since he was first detained.
“recovered from covid” is listed alongside “vaccinated” in the vaccine passports of Europe and elsewhere.
this is NEVER discussed in Australia. i’ve posted previously on FR that DOZENS of countries recognise NATURAL IMMUNITY:

recognizing natural immunity is usually limited to six months, as in Djokovic’s case, but the same is true of the vaccines, when you consider how boosters are now being required, or about to be required. (also, given some people allegedly still had natural immunity from SARS-1 seventeen years ago, six months for SARS-2 might need to be reconsidered.)
in the US, you do have some doctors on Laura Ingraham’s program in particular, and on Fox in general, who bring it up, but this does not happen in Australia.
it is time Australians were given this information.
