Is it the Chevy Volt that has an onboard gas powered generator, to top off the battery charge for the EV portion of the car? Like Betamax, is a superior EV, but is going to lose out to the fancy cars with very fast top end speeds. For a commuter car, how could you beat one of these Volts?
That's the one-world gov't plan, to stop private ownership of vehicles and force public transportation on the masses. Not that it'll be cheaper - public transportation is heavily subsidized by taxes and the farebox generates perhaps less than 30 percent of costs. They're just shifting expenses to those having private ownership of vehicles via taxes and fees. The rich will afford it. The gov't power-brokers will have access to single-occupancy vehicles for free.
Yes that is true, and the hoi poloi will not even be allowed a private drive in the country to see where the uber wealthy live, or into the newly “wilded” portions of the continents.
Whatever you want to call them, call them.
Coal or natural gas....comes out of the ground...I’ll call them fossil fuel.
They aren’t nuclear and they aren’t wind, solar and hydro.
I do not care..... I’ll continue to drive my Silverado.
I guess you didn't read (or comprehend) the article that you posted. It says the very opposite of what you said.
WHY IS IT DIFFICULT TO MASS PRODUCE SOLID STATE BATTERIES?Carmakers and technology companies have produced solid-state li-ion battery cells one at a time in a lab, but have been unable so far to scale that up to a mass production.
It is hard to design a solid electrolyte that is stable, chemically inert and still a good conductor of ions between the electrodes. They are expensive to fabricate and are prone to cracking because of the brittleness of the electrolytes when they expand and contract during use.
Currently, a solid-state cell costs about eight times more to make than a liquid li-ion battery, experts say.
OK I jumped the gun. Reading too many articles.
