An Asian man who was brutally assaulted in an April hate crime attack has died from his injuries, the NYPD announced Saturday.
Yao Pan Ma, 61, was repeatedly kicked in the head April 23 while collecting cans in East Harlem, cops said.
Ex-con Jarrod Powell was caught on video assaulting Ma, and busted four days after the savage attack, which left the victim in a coma.
Ma died Dec. 31, the NYPD said.

Powell, who has at least 15 prior busts dating back to 1988, claimed the victim attacked him first — and that video of the sickening assault was “a whole lot of bulls–t.”
Totally believable, we all know how crazy violent elderly Asian men can be, especially to blacks. /s
The perp likely will not be prosecuted, given who the current NYC DA is.
I read the headline “NYC hate crime victim dies from his injuries” and thought to myself “I wonder if this is another black-on-Asian crime.”
Turns out you are about 100% right when you draw such a conclusion from a headline.

So from a purely "envy based" motivation it makes sense that blacks would target Asians.
And just as an aside...having traveled fairly extensively in Africa (particularly East Africa) there has historically been a substantial amount of resentment toward Indians by Africans. Indians have settled in East Africa for a long time and tend to be more successful and affluent than the "native" population.
Will be interesting to see how the Soros backed new Manhattan DA Bragg deals with this felony. If he does what he said he will do and downgrades charges, hopefully he will then deal with a huge demonstration of Chinese- Americans outside his office which is not far from New York’s Chinatown. Th Asians have to stop being docile democrats, and start reacting to reality.

I still hate anything deemed a “hate crime.” Conservatives using such language have absorbed leftist thinking and propaganda.
What if he told the man he loved him while he bashed his head? Maybe the perp considered that “can collection territory” his turf.

Yes, blacks are lowest on the economic ladder. Now here’s the thing. Trump wanted to bring industry back to the United States. Factories would have sprung up up in the cities. Blacks would have benefited greatly from that.
It is a real tragedy that most blacks did not see how good Trump would have been for them. But I really don’t blame those blacks all that much. Their leaders - and the mainstream media - ran a very successful propaganda campaign. Most of the blame lies with those folks.
I especially hate "I Like You As a Friend" crimes.
