Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have called Joe Manchin and urged him to back killing the filibuster so the Democrats can pass voting rights legislation, report claims

Sen. Joe Manchin is taking heat from all sides as he resists eliminating the last stalwart against the Democratic agenda, the filibuster, including some of the biggest names in America.

Manchin has told colleagues his phone has been lighting up with calls in recent days, including from former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

Though two former presidents and every Democrat in the Senate couldn't budge the West Virginia senator, even TV host Oprah Winfrey phoned in to try to convince him to agree to filibuster reform, according to Politico.

Moderate Sens. Jon Tester, D-Mont., Tim Kaine, D-Va., and Angus King, I-Maine, were once leery of doing away with the 60-vote hurdle for fears of what Republicans would do if they took back the majority, but now are leading the campaign to sway the West Virginia Democrat.

Getting calls from "moderate" Dem senators? THERE IS NO SUCH THING as a "moderate" Dem senator. There are only a few senators, like Manchin, that come from states that still have a considerable number of old-school Democrats who are yet to realize their party has gone full Left.

Manchin is between a rock and a hard place. . .it's all about which side, his voters or the Dem overlords, will make his life a more miserable hell. I figure Bill's phone call put the prospects of Arkancide on the table. Thus, advantage: Dem overlords.

If Clinton called, there may have been a suggestion of imminent Manchin suicide, all the pressure just got too much for him, poor soul.

Everyone should take a minute to thank Manchin for his efforts to preserve some semblance of normalcy. Please do. A lot is riding on this one man.

“Voting rights” bill is nothing more than ensuring that Dems NEVER EVER lose another election again..giving MILLIONS of illegals the right to vote..no voter ID, in fact demanding an ID would be a felony..same day voter registration, you can vote 50 times for the same person, Dems want to do this now since they know they are going to get clobbered in November so this is their only chance to change America forever

Typical with the Democrats aka Demoncrats when they title a bill you can bet your life savings it will do just the opposite of the title, for example:
ACA, Affordable Care Act
Infrastructure Investment and Jobs
HR1. For the People Act of 2021

Oprah’s idea of racism is when a closed Jewelry store won’t open up for your assistants to shop for you.

Think about that.

And Obama was given a tens of millions break on his 30+ beachfront acres on Martha’s Vineyard.

You hope.
How long has this nonsense been going on?
Manchin has more fortitude than any of the other Dem Senators.

Joe Manchin won his last election by 3%.

If he votes to suspend the filibuster and allow this bill to move forward he is dead political meat in West Virginia. He knows this. In his next election if this happens that bill with in green agenda, anti coal agenda, job killer agenda, higher taxes, and rampant inflation, will be known in West Virginia as “The Joe Manchin Bill.”

The only way he will vote to suspend the filibuster is if he has no intention of running again and is paid off in some manner.

To be swiftly replaced by a hard core conservative appointed by the Republican governor. Meanwhile, the Dems many never win that seat in WV again for another 50 years.

Manchin is pretty ballsy about getting his price. That’s why the regime will end up paying it. I wonder what % of actual West Virginians contacting him are urging him to cave?
