In the year since the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, a handful of Democrats, constitutional scholars and pro-democracy advocates have been quietly exploring how a post-Civil War amendment to the Constitution might be used to disqualify former President Trump from holding office again.
Calls for Congress to take steps to strip Trump of his eligibility, which reached a crescendo in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 riot, have since decreased. But those who remain engaged on the issue say discussions about applying Section 3 of the 14th Amendment have been ongoing....
...An analysis by The Hill found that around a dozen Democratic lawmakers have spoken either publicly or privately over the last year about how Section 3 of the 14th Amendment might apply to those who engaged in insurrection on Jan. 6.
Among those whose offices have spoken recently with Tribe are Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), who sits on the Jan. 6 House Select Committee; Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), who chairs the powerful House Judiciary Committee; and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.)....

The first impeachment was going to get Trump.
They talked about trying to keep Trump off the ballot over taxes.
2nd impeachment was going to get him.
If they wanted Trump out- 67 or 68 Senators could’ve convicted him on either of the impeachment BS.
These democrats will fail on their mission, because President Trump did nothing wrong and they’re “suckers & losers.”

There is nothing quiet about reading a 'secret plan' in the media.
There is ZERO chance that this is going to happen, because if they thought January 6, 2021 was a riot or an insurrection, the demonRAT pols would never survive a real one.
1. The only violence at the capital on Jan. 6, 2021 was perpetrated by government actors.
2. What did Trump have to do with instigating what happened at the capital? Nothing.
3. Where is any constitutional precedent for barring a candidate from the presidency over disliking him? Constitutionally, choosing and rejecting presidential candidates is done by voters, not by sniveling congress critters.

THE USA is NOT a ‘Democracy’.
IT is a Republic.
Inflation, lock downs, mandates.
All started because of Trump.

The Trump “coalition” was a massive threat to the global elite. Make no mistake..... that is who now owns the DNC and they still own quite a few republicrats too.
The metrics of the election are inexplicable but perhaps the biggest number is the one you astutely posted. 10 million.
The most votes ever DESPITE the fact that Trump got more support from new or disengaged voters, largest percentage of Hispanic votes by a “republican”, larger percentage of the black vote for a “republican”, and more blue collar and union votes than any “republican” in history.
The latter three above are essential parts of the coalition that the DNC must have to win. 27 toss-up congressional races and they lost them all (because of what I wrote above) except in key counties that decided the election who defied every trend line.
I won’t recite the whole list but suffice it to say that nothing about the 2020 election passes the smell test.
Democrats are on the Titanic and the radio is out.
This has been rattling around for a while now, and even though it’s clear that there is exactly zero justification for these claims, a group of very establishment elected Dems are persisting. The question is why.
Further down in the piece on the Hill, it’s noted that the real goal is to get a handful of Democrat-controlled state AG’s to refuse to put Trump’s name on the state ballot, should he decide to run. They don’t actually think that would stick, but would provide the occasion for litigation and further electoral chaos in the runup to the 2024 election.
That’s got to be the real goal here: the chaos and opportunity to repeat their successful efforts last year to utterly corrupt the election process and steal a national election in broad daylight.
The question is, will there be any significant effort on the GOP side to make an effective counter-attack. History does not support optimism in that regard. Can the base organize in time to simply demand accountability?
Screw 2024. Their won’t be a country left. 2022 and before midterms!
