Your next-to-last graphic reminds me of one of the arguments for gun control: “The reason we have gun violence, even though we have strict gun control, is precisely because other places don’t have it.” (”The reason our medication doesn’t work to cure our malady is because everyone else, even those without the malady, aren’t also taking our medication.”)

“Washington DC has high gun crime because Virginia has lax laws; Chicago likewise because of Indiana.” (Even though those places have much lower gun crime rates.)
