To get an electric sled 10 miles takes a couple kWh in the very coldest weather. You can probably do it with one of these: https://dakotalithium.com/product/dakota-lithium-dl-170-ah-12v-battery/?msclkid=b04f8e2dbb2d1466001deffa8debf652. Yes, your can of gas has much better energy density for a lot less money. But no, your can of gas is not constantly improving, not getting cheaper, not getting less smelly, etc. It's getting harder to argue against electric with time.

Assuming you are from Virginia, you obviously know nothing about long winters, snow conditions and snowmobiling.

No way in hell am I going to spend $10K on a snowmobile that only gets between 60 and 100 miles and spend another $1800 on a 12V backup just in case I run out of juice on the trail. To say nothing about where I'm going to put it on my sled....LOL!

No thanks, I'll take the old fashioned gasser over the EV sled any day.

Actually, gasoline has “cleaned up” so much it is now used in camping stoves and lights.
