“Single family homes, gonna be a thing of the past too.”

A record number of people moved from the city to the country in 2020 and 2021 mostly due to Work from home and people are finding homes in the country and rural areas are less expensive than the city...and this trend continues to grow.

Single family homes are still the majority of homes built in this country.

My niece and her husband live in DC outer belt. They cannot afford the home prices. They are looking at a single family home-new construction in W.Va and the Metro rail line is a mile away so they can take the train into their DC jobs in a little over an hour.

Those areas won't be rural or semi rural for long, or affordable for that matter. Where I live in Arizona, 15 years ago, was manageable to drive from one end of Phoenix metro to the other in one hour, stress free. it's an absolute disaster now. Accident after accident on the freeway. It can take hours to get from North Phoenix to the south Valley area.

My nephew is one of those tech bros trying to find a place in rural Tennessee. Every property he finds, already has an offer, usually well above asking. Look what they are doing to Idaho. Idaho for cripes sakes.

A billion people is A LOT of people.

My recommendation, for anyone young, is...leave.
