What happens when all the gas stations go belly-up?
What happens if you are 10 miles out and out of gas?
Chrysler is determined to go bankrupt over and over and over again....
As long as the taxpayers keep bailing them out.
There is a market for electric vehicles.
However, to put all your chips on the table for that one play is corporate suicide.
The shareholders need to remove all the senior executives now.
You only have to look at the accident stats, drive out there for a few hours and think about their plans to allow, probably, 750 million more new residents into the "country" to see this.
Single family homes, gonna be a thing of the past too.
If you live in the city and do limited driving in normal weather conditions, sure.
“A couple days ago I saw some battery data that claimed electric vehicle mileage declines by 70% when the temperature goes under 30 degrees F.”
TOTALLY FALSE!
Where to begin.......... Last night we did a jam session/open mike and I used a china tele that I had a friend install a loaded pick guard with humbuckers in it. Heavier than a Les Paul but it sounds nice. My guitars range from a ‘64 Epiphone Riviera I bought new in ‘65 to a ‘82 hard tail strat to a 2021 Squire Starcaster. And others. LOL!
“I wonder what the envirojackasses intend to do with all those used batteries. Bury them somewhere in the Nevada desert?”
Teslas new LP or lf (can’t remember the name) batteries are 100% recyclable.
Toyota is planning on going with a new solid state battery and they are also 100% recylable according to Toyota and will last 15 years according to Toyota.
“What happens when all the gas stations go belly-up?”
Gas stations? They are minimarts with gas pumps. They will just replace gas pumps with charging stations as many are doing now.
Then they had better build a restaurant next door so people can enjoy a 7 course meal while the car charges.
Right, so people with gas cars will be SOL, by Government decree, not because of natural market forces.
“just like hardcore Mustang guys are choosing the Mustang Mach-E over the GT350 or GT500.”
As a hardcore Mustang guy, I disagree! Different markets.
“You’ll also notice that EV speeds are stated at 70mph when they state ranges. At 75mph it drops significantly.”
So does a gas car’s.
There are enough people to keep a fad car company like Tesla in business. But once everyone gets into the game, and the severe limitations of EVs becomes much more apparent, then we'll see if they have a future. Maybe in 50 years, after all the people with any brains are dead.
Re-read what I posted - I said MOPAR guys would be rushing to buy the Tesla about as fast as the hardcore Mustang guys would choose the Mach-E (the government $7500 funded one) over the GT350/GT500.
Yeah, the Mach-E is a SUV, but Ford includes it in the Mustang line-up. They likely had to offer it as a SUV since designing an EV Mustang with the classic Mustang lines is difficult due to the size of the batteries.
You go ahead and have your cargasm over an EV and I'll enjoy driving my GT350R with its standard transmission and pleasingly obnoxious exhaust note. I like my senses stimulated when driving performance cars as well as having total control over them rather than simply pressing the accelerator and listening to a barely audible electric whine.
“Single family homes, gonna be a thing of the past too.”
A record number of people moved from the city to the country in 2020 and 2021 mostly due to Work from home and people are finding homes in the country and rural areas are less expensive than the city...and this trend continues to grow.
Single family homes are still the majority of homes built in this country.
My niece and her husband live in DC outer belt. They cannot afford the home prices. They are looking at a single family home-new construction in W.Va and the Metro rail line is a mile away so they can take the train into their DC jobs in a little over an hour.
Chrysler isn’t even its own corporation. Chrysler is just a brand. The corporation is Stellantis North America. Stellantis is the name of the merged company FCA and PSA. (PSA’s best known product is Peugeot).
