This is silly.
Ah yes a meaningless, symbolic act that will accomplish little, but look like Biden is doing something.
Sorry, most states have laws that require either a lock be provided with the purchase of a firearm or that a person who has a firearm without a lock will be held criminally liable for damage done by a stolen firearm.
Many firearm manufacturers include cheap gun locks within the box the firearm comes in as a way of reducing litigation.
I have even been given a gun lock by the local police department when I signed up for a concealed carry license. It is not like gun locks or “storage” methods are not available. Yes, in addition to gun locks, I have several gun storage steel boxes/safes/cabinets.
First off, telling strangers you have a safe increases your chances of getting robbed. It’s none of anyone’s business and this is the kind of unconstitutional bs that doesn’t do anything now but sets the stage for home inspections in some future random bill... For your safety of course.
Ford dealer at the time of sale:
Salesman:” before you drive away in your new car we want to make sure you have a garage and security cameras at your home”.
I was thinking about buying another gun safe for my ammo.
The one I have is crowded.
If you have your gun in a safe, are you the one being protected or are you protecting the gun?
I have a Liberty Safe. I love that thing. It’s green and looks fabulous in my library.
It kept my weapons safe during a break-in on Thanksgiving day 7 years ago. I do not lock up all of my guns, that would be a reckless thing to do, but I appreciate the security of a safe when I’m not home.
WOW. Gun dealers would have never thought of selling accessories and safes to increase their profits without this. This Biden guy sure is smart.
It's a government thing.
Safty devices = locks; nothing new.
Those asshats already mandated that every firearm is equipped with a lock. If they sell firearms, they locks.
Just install locks on your home’s doors and you should have it covered.
I've never used a padlock, but I don't have kids.
Anyone know how to put a lock on the gun on a tank?
A welding rig, or a thermite grenade.
