Sadly there are many risks to life in this world, and even though they may be miniscule overall each individual case is tragic for the people involved.
Based on what we know now, it is too bad that the people in the scientific community decided to pursue research with dangerous viruses in spite of the risks to everyone of what they were doing. Perhaps some of the doctors speaking up today about the aftermath of letting a dangerous virus escape from a lab should have spoken up sooner.
