Madden to me was similar physically to Ernest Borgnine. A guy who, based on his portly appearance, didn’t look like he would have made it out of his 50s. Yet Borgnine lived all the way to 95. You just never know.
Or the actor who played General Burkhalter in Hogan’s Heroes, Leon Askin, who lived to 97.
I don’t remember his coaching years, but it seemed like he didn’t age for 20 or 30 years. Celebrities who come on the scene already bald or gray-haired or white-haired or who play older characters from the beginning seem like they can go on forever.
