I guess you use floppy discs too. The times are going with EVs, and they’ll eventually take over. Every major auto factory is shutting down ICE’s and going towards EV’s.
I’ll be sold when they finally go to swappable batteries, ala the Rhino propane tank model (with some convenient battery swapping technology, of course.)
I think the idea of discarding cars at an early age will naturally limit their popularity.
EV are being forced on us thru legislation not the market. Companies adapt because they have to not because it’s a better product.
This argument is inane. I guess that no one remembers the EV1 and EV2 of the early 80s. General Motors tried electrics and it was a dismal failure. With respect to solar and wind being the answer, no one is factoring in the recycling nightmare for the panels and turbine blades. That says nothing about all the rare birds that are being killed by the turbines. Not all ideas are good and people are not thinking these through.

You really think the grid will handle all of those EVs, and that driving will not be rationed? If you do, I’ve got some swampland in Florida to sell you.
Countries are banning ICE cars. The major car companies are NOT going to run two different assembly lines. Once they choose to drop engines, the switch will be fast.
Those changes will drive the research towards efficiency in batteries and chargers.
I know that’s not a popular thought on FR. You don’t have to enjoy it…but understand it’s coming. The US doesn’t dictate global auto markets anymore.
Floppy disks were replaced by better products. They were not outlawed by government decree.
There you go again, house RINO.
