It cracks me up when they wonder why police couldn’t just shoot a weapon out of a perp’s hand. They actually believe that this can be done by the average police officer with a pistol.
I have actually seen this done on a video, by a sniper with a sniper rifle, prepared and at amazingly close range, on a guy with mental issues pointing a gun at his own head. The shot actually broke the gun and I think the person with the gun kept all their fingers. All involved agreed that it was an amazing and lucky shot.
Agreed and who’s to say if even a police officer could do that, what guarantee is there that the perp gives up? Center mass shooting is designed for several reasons: first it’s the largest part of the body, second is it contains the vital organs and arteries to stop the perp and finally, if any of the vital organs are hit, the person is less likely to be able to fight back due to shock.
