Yes, consider what an hour of Elon's time is $worth$.
The man is sheer genius. The left criticized him for not paying enough taxes, never mind that his wealth is tied up in company stocks from which he derives no income.
So he tweets to the left and asks if he should sell 10 percent of his Tesla stock in order to pay capital gains taxes. Of course, they respond and say "sell". So... he sells off 10 percent of stocks at the going rate of over $1000/share, and exercises options on buying more stock at the rate of $6/share, and pays capital gains taxes on the difference of $6 vs $1000. Result: he now owns more stock than before the sale, pocketed billions of dollars while paying billions in taxes, and the left think they punished him. All while he laughs at them. Clever man.
Fascinating. He is trying to figure out so many challenges to humanity’s continued existence. He expressed a surprising morality about money and finance. Interesting explanations of his climate change attitudes—much more realistic, long-term, problem-solving approach rather than hysterical bashing about. I was unaware of Neurolink, which could be a game-changer for spine- or brain-injured people, and hope it does work out well. He’s not so sure about Jesus, but “won’t stand in the way if He’s saving people.”
