We're the ones trying to prevent it from building oil pipelines and force it to pay transitory fees to other Eastern European nations.

NATO is a purely defensive organization, which does not have the will or the means to invade Russia. Former soviet bloc countries joined NATO as a defense against bullying or aggression/invasion by Putin. Exactly what Putin is doing to Ukraine with threats of further invasion if he does not get his way.
