“My understanding is that there has been an increase of volcanic activity in Antarctica. That is why these glaciers are melting from the bottom. Not caused by humans. Sea levels may indeed rise, but not much we can do about it. I think the best we can do is to prepare for it.”

I think you have the winning answer.

“Webber Nunatak is one of several volcanic cones in the Hudson Mountains. Satellite imagery suggested an eruption at Webber Nunatak in 1985, although this remains unconfirmed.”

I suspect everyone here can guess where Webber Nunatak is without looking at the map at the link provided.

“Potential steam was reported in 1974 and an unconfirmed report of an eruption detected by satellite was made in 1985, indicating that the Hudson Mountains may be volcanically active.”

“Volcanic activity of the Hudson Mountains has produced predominately subaerial basaltic lava flows, although subglacial or subaqueous tuffs and lava flows have also been noted.”

https://lima.usgs.gov/antarctic_research_atlas/

go to that site and search for:
Webber Nunatak

The atlas zooms in greatly, you have to press the - button quite a number of times to see Webber Nunatak in relation to a coastline you will recognize.
