How about Russia arming Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, communist terrorists like FARC, arming Mexican Narco criminals through the FSB controlled Russian mafia, or putting up anti-ship missiles right off the shore of Japan a week after sailing their navy off the Japanese coast with the Chinese? The enemy of your enemy is not your friend.
That said, the left's disdain for Russia is exaggerated. Almost half of them have ties with that country, either anciently such as Obama through his KGB mentors (Frank Davis), or currently as certain Dem senators receiving millions from Kremlin tied lobbyests and gangsters.
Soros is just a dog whistle to screw and trick conservatives into believing Putin, who aids and supports every communist and leftist party on Earth either overtly or covertly, is somehow a traditionalist and a Christian even as he promotes literal degenerates and Marxists like Archbishop Kirill and other overt communists.
You should read the writings of JR Nyquist and maybe a nice biography on Putin to rid yourself of your delusions. Read Anatoliy Golitsyn too and other defectors. Mexican Narcos are getting armed by your own government. If Russia chooses to deal with them or other such groups I think the US is going to forget about Eastern Europe.

We do the exact same thing with their enemies, right in their backyard.
We left the Russians with no choice economically to associate with the countries they do by imposing the sanctions we have imposed on them.
We're as much, if not more, to blame than they are.
And, yes, the left is the primary aggressor in all of this. Obama and Biden have been much aggressive toward Russia than Trump was. It's was Obama's Deep State the started the Russian collusion nonsense and spread the lie that Russia was paying off the Taliban to kill American troops in Iraq, a lie that repeated by RINO Liz Cheney.
The Russian people generally view America favorably. Most have no desire for Americans to be their enemies. I know -- I've watched hundreds of hours of Russian YouTube.
Russia is not North Korea or China. It's population is much more comparable in its values to red state America.
