Coronaviuruses are not that kind of virus.

They are simple replicators. They literally clone themselves. The variants come from the fact they are also crappy replicators—that is, their clones are like running a copy through a copy machine a million times. After a while, the result looks nothing like the original.

Two viruses would have to attack the same cell, at the same time..and then find the room inside the cell to replicate...again at the same time. Then, the cells would have to share enough structure that their RNA would combine. And then combine in a way that would survive and thrive.

The probability of that would be less than miniscule.

I think what the original guy actually was trying to convey is that is might be possible to host both viruses at one time. If that were true, the Omicron variant would push out Delta in short order—as it is more prolific. But...it is also reported to be less lethal.

So again, the ‘danger’ this guy is proposing is limited.

The comments are akin to talking about a comet hitting the earth. Yeah...its possible and perhaps even likely. Its just as likely not happening today.
