That's what they do now. The vast majority (although there are some genuinely needy people who are in bad straits through no fault of their own) of welfare recipients are at the low income level because of their bad decisions - primarily financing lifestyle with debt. Anyway most welfare recipients are too lazy to steal and/or too cowardly to steal on their own, so the vote for the government that promises to steal the most for them.

OK then it seems fair that, going forward, ZERO of my money that goes for taxes is to be made available for welfare or entitlement benefits to any able-bodied person, who chooses not to work. It is not equitable to use my money to support those who are too lazy to work.
The mostly under age 50 “socialist” Americans are naive about what happens when Marxists actually take over. Only the top elites have lavish mansions and luxury yachts and jewelry. The tens of millions of the lowest classes (no middle class, sorry) have barely enough food to eat at best and no chance at rising economically.
And no freedom. ALL of them try to escape (Soviet Jews, Poles, North Koreans, Chinese, Venezuelans, Cubans) to “freedom” and “a better life.” No one tries to break into a Marxists country. That says something.

Free markets are the most equitable. People get to reap the rewards of their labor and ingenuity.
But if she thinks equity is everyone having the same wealth, she needs to lead by example and divest herself of any wealth beyond the average wealth of everyone alive today. She needs to also maintain a standard of living that matches the average also.
When she does this successfully for a decade or more, she might have something worth listening to. And that something will probably be the merits of a free market economy with the rule of law and protection of individual liberties.

It’s up to each citizen to EARN as much, or as little as they want/need.
