"While electric vehicle use is growing rapidly in well-to-do, mostly White communities,...." I.e., virtue signaling 'See how much we care about the cabron "problem?"' communities. (Notice the use of caps for white, black and hispanics? Seems as though hotair is buying the BS as well. Fidiots.)

Lucky this administration knew enough to include tax payer supplied charging stations in the "Bash Business Bigger" packaage eh? Surely the grid can handle supplying the power to EVs that most folks (what with the BOOMING economy) can't even think about buying. And, why would you? (I know in some circumstances they work for some folks including some FReepers.) Grrrrrrr!

That’s why in a free country, people get to make these kinds of decisions. Give people choices, and let the producers meet the demand. What is the problem with having a variety of motors until technology and infrastructure develop to make EVs more practical for more people? I guess it’s because the climate messiahs have decided otherwise, and they have the power to have their way. The government timeline on a switchover to EVs is going to be disastrous. It reminds me of when the young Fidel Castro wanted to diversify Cuba’s agriculture and make the country more self-sufficient in its food supply. He decided to go big on planting a certain crop (I have forgotten what it was.). Cuban agricultural experts warned him that the crop wouldn’t grow in Cuba, but Castro insisted on his plan. The crop didn’t grow.

The Biden administration wants to close that gap by creating more point-of-sale tax credits for EVs,”

I believe the tax credits only apply to ‘union-made’ EVs. “Look for the union label”

To reduce C02 emissions faster, the people driving the most should often get them first, if suitable for their usage.

The Beverly Hills mom putting in 26K miles in a year should get an electric car long before the Inglewood mom driving 8K miles a year.

Logically, if we’re going to tear down “racist” bridges then we should ban racist vehicles. Ban the electric car. We certainly should not be subsidizing it. In 10 years, the next group of progressive extremists will demand that it be banned and all that investment will be rendered useless.

The problem with FAST public charging stations is where to put them. Current technology has people charging at home and fast charging for road trips. I live Champaign, Illinois. Not one gas station from what I can tell has EV charging stations. The Meijer store at the cross roads of I57/I74 has 8 older Tesla charging stalls. I’ve never seen more than a few cars charging at any one time. If there was any great demand, the station would have already had the faster version 2 supercharges installed or in the works.

Where are the mostly white communities in Florida? The wealthiest neighborhoods in Orlando all have rich professional athletes and most aren’t white.

Minorities will end up mostly buying used EVs that have worn out batteries. The libs will then demand they get free replacement batteries

Racial inequity is right. The poor neighborhoods will have the gas vehicles Theirs will be the reliable cars
