This is not in regards to this sick situation where Loretta Martin thought she was a woman but was another man, but some of the strange comments appearing here.
What the hell is going on with the Free Republic?
Understandably, there are biological differences between men and women. Certainly there are some differences between types of intelligences and patterns of thinking. And there is nothing wrong with conservative values, particularly when we’re discussing physical limitations for most women doing physically intensive work typically associated with burly men and some areas where women in general (although not all women) have societal pressures on them to work in fields and which women typically are not favorably prone.
But since when has this forum become a place for people who are anti-representitve free government? When did this become a place for dogmatic thinking where the only respectable place for a woman to be is in the kitchen making a sandwich?
I really don’t see much difference between the new political class writing here and those we’re complaining about. Some comments are from people calling for treating women like dogs, as if women are not to step further outside of their home than the chain they are attached to. Some suggest women shouldn’t have freedom, lamenting participation in the political systems in which we live. What is next, advocating for violence against women? An ostensibly different political group of people do not allow women to participate politically outside of what the cult adheres to. They tarnish the God-given joys of motherhood, and glorify the murder of innocent babies. They too place women beneath men, allowing perverts to obfuscate the public life of females. Both ideologies subject women to the barbaric practice of living in a world without freedom. These are the ideas of totalitarians.
Most of my life, the men who have been supportive of women participating in female Athletics have been conservatives. They have been kind men who care about their daughters and women excelling. They are the kind of men who listen to their wives and respect them as God has asked them to do. They are patient and good and loving. The men that I have met in my life who hate women, who are jealous of women, who seek to keep women under their boot heels, are democrats. Out of everything I have done, from serving in the Navy, working in a bank, teaching economics, going to law school, participating in college athletics, conservatives judge me by my talents and respect me. Liberals do not.
So I don’t know what’s going on with this website but it’s increasingly troubling to see people openly suggesting that women are mere serfs relegated to a practice suggestive of Shari’a law.
I smell a rat. Conservatives love liberty. Conservatives believe in liberty. Conservatives know that some of the great conservatives in American and British History have been women (Ayn Rand, Phyllis Schaefly, Laura Ingalls Wilder and Rose Wilder Lane, and Margaret Thatcher). Whoever these people are on this forum writing this trash I don’t think are conservatives and I want to sound the alarm on it.
The things being stated here by some are not Conservative in the least bit. Be ware. By their fruits ye shall know them.
You are absolutely correct IMO. Some of the posters are consistently posting as knuckle dragging sexists, redneck bigots and haters.
I have noticed these same posters on other threads. If they post their muck here, Free Republic can be maligned by showcasing their remarks. These people are not conservatives and I believe their motives are suspect.
