Apologized to who..the Chicago Police? HOW ABOUT MAGA SUPPORTERS EVERYWHERE who were accused of this nonsense..how about US? We are the ones who deserve the damn apology but we will never get one because Jussie Smollett is a sack of poo..he did this for two reasons, number one to boost his status as victim, and being a victim can make a person very wealthy, and secondly, he did it on the orders of Kamala Harris, yes I always believed from day 1 that she was in on the whole thing..she was the 1st to run to the cameras demanding her anti lynching bill get passed, she is close to the Smollett family, and Jussie refused to turn over his cell phone, emails, text messages..why, simple, he and Kamala communicated, he didnt want those messages to come out

Kamala Harris and Cory Booker were pushing the anti-lynching bill which passed the Senate at this time. After the Jussie Smollett hoax, the entire Senate rushed back to DC to add a statement to the “anti-lynching” bill that got the camel’s nose under the tent to add “gender identity” to the group of protected classes that could be the victim of a “lynching”.

I use quotation marks around “lynching” because the bill broadened the definition to include any person in a protected class who is assaulted in any way by two or more people (not in a protected class?). Rand Paul voted no, at least to one version, saying that it could apply to someone who caused a “bruise” to another person. He was mocked for this.

I found an article about the new law with about 100 comments. Almost everyone thought that the definition of “lynching” in the bill was the traditional one: a murder, especially by hanging of a person by a mob without due process. Instead, lynching has the new legal definition below.

After the Jussie Smollett faked incident, the Senate added part 2 as follows:

(1) OFFENSES INVOLVING ACTUAL OR PERCEIVED RACE, COLOR, RELIGION, OR NATIONAL ORIGIN. —If 2 or more persons willfully cause bodily injury to any other person, because of the actual or perceived race, color, religion, or national origin of any person—

(2) OFFENSES INVOLVING ACTUAL OR PERCEIVED RELIGION, NATIONAL ORIGIN, GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTITY, OR DISABILITY.— “(A) IN GENERAL.—If 2 or more persons, in any circumstance described in subparagraph (B), willfully cause bodily injury to any other person because of the actual or perceived religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of any person—
