ere's What You Need to Remember: Ultimately, the country with the more advanced AI-enabled sensors, long-range weapons and surface-to-air-to-undersea networking would destroy the other.
A recent think tank wargame explores the prospect of a massive war between China and America and Japan in 2030, introducing many war-time questions about submarines, amphibious attack, surface ships and fifth-generation fighters.
According to a story in Foreign Policy, the Center for New American Security’s wargame unfolds as follows:
“…A Chinese flotilla lands 50 soldiers on Uotsuri Jima, an island in the East China Sea that is part of the Senkakus, an island chain owned by Japan but also claimed by China. Declaring a 50-mile exclusion zone around the Senkakus, Beijing deploys a ring of surface ships, submarines, warplanes, and drones—backed by ballistic missiles based on the Chinese mainland…”
Japan counterattacks, sending in amphibious warships, submarines, surface warships and aircraft-backed Marines.
Given the existing “Mutual Defense Pact,” the U.S. sends aircraft carriers and other assets to support Japan, with specific instructions not to exchange fire with Chinese forces. That does not work, according to the wargame scenario.

We could at least ram the Chinese container ships.
Bump
I was just watching that the other day. Seems there’s a mess of Free(with ads) Godzilla movies on youtube.
WW I ... the war to end all wars (fail)
WW II ... the war to end fascism (fail)
Vietnam ... the war to keep southeast Asia free (fail)
Gulf wars ... fail
Afghanistan... fail
World War III ... the war to end human civilization ...
SUCCESS !!!!!
> Even a conventional war with China would crash the US economy, permanently. <
I don’t know about permanently, but you’re more right than wrong. China makes a huge percentage of our consumer goods. Replacing all that would send inflation through the roof, as you noted.
As a side note, I took a stroll through Lowe’s the other day. Everything except the lumber seemed to be made in China. The nails, the buckets, the artificial Christmas trees...China, China, China.
Sorry Maggie T, forgot about your little war. From the Argie perspective, fail.
Add the Republic of South Korea. They got a ww2 score to settle with them.
"Oh, the humanity!!"
Not when we have not had a congress with an actual will to win any war since World War Two we cannot. They would rather grift off the blood of our military but enriching themselves through war profiteering instead of going in making a gigantic mess, killing the enemy, then forcing them to rebuild themselves using our products nope can’t ever see us winning a hot war against China.
I think China might have the same or maybe better weapons for a fair fight but I doubt they have the resources to feed their troops for any length of time. They are starving now wars are not won on empty stomach’s.
Let it all burn. We need to get rid of tons of dead weight anyway.
Not when our Commander in Chief is in the Chi Com’s pocket.

….and not when the Chicoms brag they can raise a 200 million man army ( reported by Time magazine a decade ago), they control the Panama Canal, have established a very large military base on the Horn of Africa, can destroy our Naval base in Guam, and have God knows how many tens of thousands PLA agents here in the US. That said, a war is WON through unconditional surrender of the enemy, the US has not won a war since 1945.
We have a 4-star Navy admiral that would make the Chinese die laughing.
The US will not initiate hostilities against China, in any circumstances - not because it would violate traditional American concepts of democracy and freedom, but because America is decaying, en route to cultural death. If we have a war with China, it will be simply because China desires conflict...
Hi.
Gotta give some credit to Xi and the CCP for an impressive military build up. Lots of nice shiny toys and state of the art technology.
But I have to ask, what war have the Chinese won in the last couple of centuries?

There is nothing in the human condition that is "permanent" and to say otherwise is as idiotic as when Francis Fukuyama wrote the book 'The End of History?' after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
Japan would have a better chance without America.
2 years ago, it would have been different.
That's good to know. I will check them out this evening. I've recently found a whole lot of Toho Studios Godzilla (and Mothra, etc. movies on the Tubi Channel. That's one of the best free channels out there.
My all time favorite for title creativity is "Destroy All Monsters". Sensible advice, don't you think?
Yawn, ... it's been a long time since the "national interest" has had an interest in the Nation.
Any serious confrontation with China would cause catastrophic consequences for the United States, and the scenario gets worse as each day passes.
China and allies only have to wait while the West destroys itself.
