Newsmax said the building in which they were hiding is about a mile from the Canadian border. The police said someone let them in the building and may have been aiding the parents. Do you think they were looking to be smuggled into Canada?
yes...its very close to the Canadian border...hard to say what they were up to....crossing the border into Canada is a nightmare...
All of the Detroit metro is only a few miles from the Canadian border. Canada also has their border tightly locked down because of Covid. Folks are heavily scrutinized going both directions. These two nitwits were hiding out, but it’s unlikely they were going to Canada…
I don’t know about that. If (and that’s a big if) the facts being widely reported are true then I think the state could make out a colorable case of reckless homicide or involuntary manslaughter. The standard definition of this crime is:
“ the prosecution must show that someone was killed as a result of an act by the defendant, that this act was inherently dangerous or done recklessly and that the defendant should have known the act threatened the lives of others”
Again, we need to see concrete evidence. Nobody should be convicting these two based on media reports and the bare assertions of the prosecutor.
the prosecutor is a gun grabbing psycho democrat...even CNN was laughing at her last night. Thinks shes gonna be a star because of this tragedy....cant believe this airhead is the Oakland County Prosecutor...the legendary L. Brooks Patterson was the Prosecutor there for many years..absolute legend. My state of Michigan has lost its mind...the 3 main counties around Detroit, Wayne...Oakland..and Macomb, the prosecutors are all female democrats...Attorney General is a lezbo democrat...secretary of state is a female left wing nut..and then theres the cherry on top.. out of Lansing...her highness “big Gretch”....November 2022 cant come soon enough...i cant take much more...

Try omitting to pay your taxes and see what happens. Leaving an unsecured firearm either in possession of, or readily available to someone highly likely to use it to shoot himself or others is a reckless act. Analogous to leaving a loaded firearm in a toddler’s playpen. And I made clear that we shouldn’t jump to conclusions here until all the facts are in. Bet this could very possibly be a case of negligent homicide or criminal recklessness. We have to wait and see.
I loved hearing her admit that Michigan has no gun storage laws and demand the legislature pass them, then proceed to charge the parents for essentially breaking a non-existent law.
She is trying to separate them from the kid so they can’t support their obviously broken son.
I have a friend who is heavily involved in Oakland County politics and working very hard to change the leftist liberal paradigm there. We were talking last night about this case.
The prosecutor is mad because the kid has invoked his right to remain silent and his right to counsel.

Arresting the parents sets a very dangerous precedent.
