It’s definitely looking that way.
They have TWO things in common:
1) Covid-free
2) Aborigines
What destroyed the British control of India was video of their soldiers beating unarmed and unresisting Indians.

The difference this time is that the government elites in the ‘liberal’ western democracies would LOVE to be doing the same to their own populations right now. So I rather expect that the reaction will be muted.
Eh, how about our defense of the 2A will save us. The rats would amend the Constitution in any way they wanted, if they could!
Today’s Australia is not the culture of past...the people will accept whatever the government does.
Some will grumble, but that will be all.
Here is a story about CBP agents being pelted for the crime of helping a woman in distress.
For persective, the Northern Territory is roughly the size of Texas with a population of 1/4 million. Over half of that live in Darwin with another 1/4 living in two other cities.
I've already posted extensively about this story.
And I haven't taken a position that the story is a lie - I've made it very clear that the fundamentals of it is true.
But I've also set it context.
Are you one of those people who can't handle complexity and so wants everything to be seen in very simplistic black and white?
Total myth...I have worked with and have a lot of Auzzie friends and keep in regular contact with several.
I think you would be surprised at how many support what the government is doing.
They grumble a bit, but maintain it is for the "greater good".
Hell is not going to break loose...maybe a couple generations ago, but no more.
It wasnt avoided, it was unnecessary in this context.
I know that only 6% of our population, admittedly with help, was necessary to defeat an empire in pitched battles.
A very small number of determined insurgents without firearms can cause quite a mess.
I know that there are less than 250,000 employed by the national government of Australia and a population of 25,000,000.
When a large enough percentage of Australians say, “We know where you live,” the problem ends. At least the immediate problem ends for now.
A more selective pressure on a far fewer number of people likely not employed by government would be necessary for a longer term solution.
So far, they cannot. Many thanks to the writers of our Constitution.
