What J&J Can Still Teach Us ("news" sponsored by J&J)
The Atlantic ^ | Dec 1, 2021 | Katherine J. Wu

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine, perhaps more than any other COVID shot, knows what it is to be bullied... Tweets, memes, and listicles dragged it... The underdog dose, the “second class” shot, the nation’s vaccine-a non grata, seemed as good as dead...

It’s still early, but [immunologist] Collier thinks the dynamics might look a bit different for people who got a single dose of J&J. Her recent work shows that their antibody levels start significantly lower than mRNA recipients’, but that eight months out from vaccination, the numbers have stayed stable, and have, perhaps, even gone up.

I was interested in the article bc I took the J&J. Ok, great, the it shows more durability than previously thought. But I always read comments for perspective, so I went below the article to review them. No comments section, of course, but there I noticed this little disclaimer:

"The Atlantic’s COVID-19 coverage is supported by grants from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation."

Yep, that "Johnson." From the foundation's website: "Our Founder Robert Wood Johnson II was born in 1893... He succeeded his uncle James as president of Johnson & Johnson in 1932." https://www.rwjf.org/en/library/collections/our-history.html

"Charitable" foundations are as corrupt as the media, which itself is bought by the foundations. Gates gives away ten$ of millions a year to media outlets, and clearly Zuckerberg is playing the same insidious game. Journalism is dead.

Btw, I had to look up "listicle". What a strange bubble world these people live in.

Yes, I was hopeful when I saw this headline, then I saw it was The Atlantic. I also had the J&J vaccine... way back in May so I was thinking my immunity was probably shot by now and I have no intention at present of getting a booster. One of the tragic aspects of this epidemic is there are literally no authorities we can trust... Trump hatred has poisoned our public discourse seemingly beyond repair.

Exactly, and well put.

Truer words were never spoken. There are good folks on both sides of the vaccination argument. But there are also liars and frauds on both sides. These liars and frauds muddy the waters.

And that’s something most people just don’t get. The pro-vaxxers can’t see that there are pro-vax liars. And the anti-vaxxers can’t see that there are anti-vax liars.

You said it.

Unfortunately, destroying trust in institutions is probably one of the desired effects of our enemies, who are pushing much of what we see.

You are either supposed to believe the latest conspiracy theory - such as, the vaccines have aluminum-based microbes that will kill you when “they” give the signal, or else you are supposed to worship the ever-changing words from St. Fauci. Most of us just want to manage risk in the best way we think we have found, whether it involves a vaccine or not.

Bingo! Most folks dont have time to do a deep dive on vaccine science and want to trust authority regarding efficiency and safety...unfortunately....there is the rest of the story.

Well said.

I simply want the freedom to make the best decisions for my family and our specific situation and reliable information.

Sadly, the freedom is under attack and you have to hunt (often beyond our shores) for reliable information.

It does not help when the authorities and the media don’t admit mistakes. Instead of someone like Fauci saying, “I was wrong about A, the better answer is B - it’s a complex situation and here is what I discovered that made me change my mind.” we get, “The answer is B, don’t question me!” And the media chorus that last week was saying, “A, A, the answer is A!” this week say, “B, B, the answer is B!” but if you ask why the answer changed, people call you names and yell at you. They think they are fooling everyone by pretending to be infallible. Outlandish conspiracy theories thrive in such an environment and make things worse.

“...I have no intention of getting a booster”.

If you dodged the serious side affects of the first shot why risk another gamble for no win.

Neither safe nor effective.

I got the J&J back early this year. I got a call from my doctor saying “doctors” are recommending getting a mRNA booster, and “doctors” are recommending Moderna and would I like to schedule an appointment?

CA Governor Gavin Newsom had the Moderna booster on top of the J&J... he then disappeared for two weeks, later emerging with the lame excuse that he wanted to spend time with his children on Halloween.

Are all these medico's on moderna/pfizer payrolls or something? At the urging of my Dr because of lung conditions I got the jab early this year, but waited till the J&J was available specifically because I wanted nothing to do with the rna shots. I got the same from my Dr to get the rna booster which I won't do. The nightnmare reports on the moderna/pfizer side effects and death count just cements in me I was right to wait. These faux vaccines have been touted to only last a few months with J&J only lasting about two. Why get a booster of the same fake junk chicom designer drug that isn't working?

Same for me: got the J&J and see no point in another one until things sort out, even though my doctor is insisting.

My wife got the Moderna and had a near retinal detachment right after the 2nd. She got it bc she’s high-risk from international travel (was exposed to the Wuhan in south Asia during the Feb/Mar 2020 breakout, had a few symptoms but never showed the antibodies). I got it so that I could spend time w/ older family members this summer (at their request), which was fortunate bc we just lost one of them this week whom I wouldn’t have otherwise been able to see.

This article actually has a pretty good explanation of how each vaccine works, but it’s ludicrous bc it makes the dual claim that 1) the J&J endures longer than thought; and 2) you should get the booster anyway.

Not a single mention in the article of the risks of the experiments. My doctor can wait until we know more — and get more honest reporting from the “experts”.

JnJ is the same mRNA junk as the others, just in more steps. It uses an adenovirus shell to get some DNA fragments into you, which then get into your cells and tell your cells to produce the mRNA. At that point, the rest of it is basically the same thing as Pfizer or Moderna.

It’s not even logical! A) they don’t work B) when they told us it WOULD work they also said needed 2 to be maximally effective…..so C) how can Chinese menu options 😉 one from column A and one from column B have chance of being effective- if you got J&J then only ONE Pfizer booster? Not logical

Apropos of my original post on how Atlantic reporting on the Wuhan is corrupt (bankrolled by Zuckerberg and J&J foundations), I see today this post:
