Sometimes. Sometimes it’s AKs. Other times it machetes. Other times it’s steal everything not nailed down. Sometimes it’s a lion, a mamba, or an insect. Sometimes it’s a disease.

A healthy percentage of those “free” 37 million AK-47’s doled out during the cold war have made their way to Africa. The ChiComs need to tread lightly.

One might recall the Battle of Faya Largeau in 1987, when a Libyan force armed with Soviet-built heavy tanks, armored vehicles and aircraft was defeated by a Chadian force armed only with small arms that rode in on dune buggies.
