One of the worst, if not the worst republican ideas in history.
First proposed by Nixon, signed into law by Ford and increased by every administration since, without exception.
It’s somewhat embarrassing to admit it but my middle daughter has milked this for years. Her two children are now adults. She then adopted three children, siblings, I try real hard not to question her motives. She and her husband are both school teachers and also receive a monthly check from Missouri on the adopted children.
Each year at tax time they take their two adult children, their adopted children and their three grand children on expensive vacations. I’m talking round trip airline tickets, car rentals, motels, food etc. She says that she votes republican.
Thanks for giving me an opportunity to get that off my chest, whether you read my rant or not. I feel better for having written it.

If it makes you feel better, whether I approve of the program or not, if I’m eligible, I use it.
I don’t get to make the rules. In theory, I get to choose who I’d prefer to make them, but they seldom do what I’d want them to do, even the ones I voted for.
So, I try to make the best of it.
