Apple devices are traceable by the company. They will be useless to the thieves

Stores close down.
Products cost honest people more.
Insurance rates do higher.
People are afraid to go to certain areas when they see mobs have been stealing there.

Minorities get some of their initial reparations back as looted from the 1619 slave masters, today’s non persons of color.

Even the cheesy two minute radio news said this morning “of hundreds of people who stole merchandise in San Francisco, LA and wealthier suburbs lately, only a small handful have been arrested.” Yeah, that’s the problem.

So....what’s not to like?

It would be so easy to stop these kinds of thefts. All retail outfits have to do is to arm their employees and advertise that they have done so. Lo and behold, all of these thugs would go back under the rocks from whence they came.

Proposition 47, also known by its ballot title Criminal Sentences. Misdemeanor Penalties. Initiative Statute, was a referendum passed by voters in the state of California on November 4, 2014. The measure was also referred to by its supporters as the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act. It recategorized some nonviolent offenses as misdemeanors, rather than felonies, as they had previously been categorized.

This was put on the ballot by the politicians. Look what they called it. Their ads lied about what a yes vote would do (I voted no).

Yes, Californians voted for it but I don’t think those voting “yes” knew what it would really do.

i’m trying really hard to feel bad for these stores but California has made their bed. I feel for the store workers being subjected to this crap.

When all the stores close the media will lament how it is (somehow) whitey’s fault. Kind of like the “SUV” that ran over the kids and grandmas in Wisconsin. Blame can NEVER be put where it deserves because slavery or something.

“When the looters are inside throw a brick on the hood of their car and through the windshield. Do more damage than what they will get in return fencing their stolen goods.”

Here’s how policing works. Cops don’t care about justice. They only want whatever caused you to call them to go away. About a neighbor who was stalking me and going on my property a responding deputy told me, (approximatly) “I realize he’s acting crazy. But if you respond in any way, I’ll arrest you.” I asked why and he said, “That’s the way it is.”

I understand. My sister was mentally disturbed. All my dad wanted was peace and quiet. So, when she attacked me, if I defended myself, he spanked me. I realized it was because there was nothing on Earth he could have done to affect her behavior because she was crazy. But, as a sane person, he knew he could force me to keep quiet no matter what she did to me.

So the real shortage is rooftop Koreans. But recent immigrants trying to live the American dream don’t sell fancy purses and phones, so those places will close up instead.

For the record, $20,000 worth of Apple stuff isn’t all that much stuff.

Yeah but it’s Commiefornia where criminals are treated as victims and victims treated as criminals and the guard who damaged the vehicle would be arrested and sued.

Depends on jurisdiction. Some might have an incentive to take a bullet seeing a pot o' gold after the lawsuit. Big corporations are especially vulnerable.

Why don’t they just UP their game and walk into the banks and walk out with cash. If a large group can get away with apples, they should be able to do dollars.

$20,000. That would be a few RAM sticks for an iMac.

“None of the smart devices will be operable without activation codes. Black market maybe, but easy to be disabled permanently.”

Yep, smart phones are smarter than these crooks. You can be sure the IMEI identification is on the barcode and inventory of the store. No one will ever be able to use these again. And as soon as they are powered up they will be located immediately.

“Apple devices are traceable by the company. They will be useless to the thieves”

Yep, this was just about as smart as stealing a bunch of phone cards that have not been activated at checkout. You can bet all those devices are bricks until an actual sale authenticates them and allows further use.

They will sell them to morons. The thief won’t get located.
