Leaving California: Civilization is collapsing in the major cities of the Golden State
American Thinker ^ | 11/25/2021 | Mark Landsbaum

I ran into an old California buddy online Sunday.  He asked me why I moved to Texas.

We didn't have a lot of time, so I gave him the shortest explanation I could: "It's not California."

For the ten or so friends, all former Californians, who have moved near us in Texas in the last year or so, no further explanation is needed.  In Texas, 80 looters don't pull their cars up to the swankiest department stores and loot the place in broad daylight with impunity.

San Francisco is different, and has been for a long time, nearly as long as it has allowed urinating and defecating and sleeping and shooting up heroin on public sidewalks.

That town's mayor said this week they are finally going to "crack down."  Will police arrest the thieves?  Well, we will have to see about that.  It's still a misdemeanor in California to steal anything under $950 in value.

But they are not going to allow people to park cars near the stores.  That should work — as well as anything else in California works.  It also should discourage paying customers and maybe clear the aisles for the looters.

We've been in Texas nearly nine years.  We've yet to see a human turd on a public sidewalk, let alone a human depositing one.  We've yet to see a mob of thieves swarm a store to take away as much as they can carry while police look the other way.

San Francisco Police chief William Scott told NBC Nightly News stores must be willing to hire security guards to make a private persons arrest.  How's that working out?

Consequently, criminals, some wielding weapons and crowbars, load up, leave, then return for more.

"We get broken windows every few minutes.

Who would want to live in a State with a County like this?

CA County's Insane New Mask Mandate Applies to Private Homes

If you happen to be celebrating Thanksgiving in California's Santa Cruz County this year, you're in for an extra helping of government intrusion thanks to a new mask mandate being levied on all residents whether they're vaccinated against the Wuhan coronavirus or not.

“This state has everything. It’s perfect. Except for the government and the control freak industrial heads and the people who fall for the aforementioned. It’s that simple.”

The Central Valley, 40-60 miles wide and 450 miles long, is one of the most productive agricultural regions in the world, producing over half of the fruits, nuts, and vegetables grown in the United States. It really is amazing.

It really wasn’t so fast if you were paying attention.

I first drove to California in 1974 from New York State. I thought I had found Utopia. I wanted to move there bigly. I’ve been back about 30 times. Each time I liked it less.

Haven’t been out there in about eight years. No interest in going back.

Apparently we voted 2/3 to 1/3 to retain the man.

Even if there was voter fraud that is way too high.

May our chains rest lightly, etc.

Working on recalls of our terrible “DA” and three lousy school board members. I think those will be more successful.

But yeah California is in bad shape.

As long as you don’t do anything productive the Guv can tax you on it’s great living here.

I’m in the mountains with other like minded folks, grow almost all our food + more for others, 2 artesian wells, generate our own power and hot water.

Thankful on this day

Right, because Santa Cruz is the entire state of California

And show me proof this is being enforced

Also have you not noticed that Orange county, Los Angeles county and Riverside county sheriffs have said they will not enforce any current or future mask or vaccine mandates?

It was actually 40 percent yes to 60 percent no

And when you consider that at least 50% of mail in ballots are fraud the actual amount of people who voted for Newsom to go away was minimum 65%

That’s $950 per store. So one can quickly amass stuff to sell out of the trunk of a vehicle or on eBay or some other reseller site.

You’re still trying to peddle the narrative that CA is a conservative, pro Trump patriot majority!

Your right

I see, so CA is just like North Korea!

Boy, you guys have been getting hoodwinked and pulled around by your noses for 40 years by the Democrat stooges, who you say are the minority in CA.

That's pretty damn embarrassing.

B.S. I know some of the Californians who have infested our state and every one of them originated in California, most several generational. A few are voting conservative, but plenty of them are too stupid to realize that the leftist policies they supported created the cesspool they fled.

B.S. So your saying all those California Republicans in the 90’s just magically switched to Democrat for no reason whatsoever at the exact same time the Democrats started doing ballot harvesting?

Sorry but those people are not California natives and I know you did not ask every one of them where they were born

It really wasn’t so fast if you were paying attention.

Correct. It slowly started with WWII. Japanese-Americans were rounded up and sent to concentration camps inland. Their housing was taken over by blacks brought in from the southern states, to do work at the various shipyards in and around San Francisco. After WWII, there was a flood of settlers coming in to the area, primarily consisting of soldiers returning to America who had first shipped out of the SF Bay Area and liked what they had seen in SF. At the time, SF (and most of California) was Republican. The shift leftward accelerated in the mid-1960s with an influx of more outsiders from the east (Nancy Pelosi, Willie Brown, etc.), and they flipped the mayor's office to Democrat (ending a half-century of Republican mayor rule). The left-ward shift was well under way by 1970, with newbie residents demanding closure of all things related to military bases (The Presidio, NG Armory, Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, Treasure Island Naval base, etc.). Got worse with an influx of gay activists.

The shift left was a half-century in the making, caused by outsiders from the East Coast.
