Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), one of former President Trump’s most vocal Republican critics in Congress, said he sees himself as “the only candidate” capable of defeating Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) in next year's election.
“If I ran for governor, I think I’m the only candidate that could win, at least that’s out there now,” Kinzinger said in an interview on Crain’s “A.D. Q&A” podcast.

All I can say is heaven help us.
He is not an improvement over Pritzker. He will do things that democrats would not dare to do. Ne will sign democrat bills and call them republican. He will not have the Illinois House or Senate. He will not have any important office. And the Illinois state government employees unions will fight him at every turn. So will all the Chicago media. You can’t save Illinois with a RINO governor and nothing else. We have tried that, it makes us look worse.
You have to win locally and create a base. And you have to be a workingman populist. All Illinois elites are leftist snobs. A military vendor shill like Kinzinger has no base. He should just go and get a job as a lobbies for Lockheed Martin.
Kinzinger is a delusional a-hole. No Republican will Virginia vote for him and why would a leftist democrat?

Maybe his anti-Trump activities have just been an elaborate ruse to beat Pritzker by attracting the mushy swing voters who don’t like Trump in the general election. I’m just throwing out hypotheticals to relieve boredom.

Peter Goslin Fitzgerald, won the US Senate seat, IN SPITE of the Republican Party of Illinois, in 1998.
It was TWENTY years before that, when Chuck Percy, a Republican, held office as a US Senator, in Illinois.
