In prison, they’re the n******.
“These guys guilty?”
As a technical matter of law....maybe, maybe not. Haven’t followed the trial closely but read Legal Insurrection articles on it. I think these bastards ought to fry, but Georgia used to have a law that MIGHT make their actions legal. If I was on the jury, they’d be in big trouble. Killing someone after you provoke a fight and threaten their life...then I’m not sure I care about “technical” points of law!
Unlike you, I’m not willing to kill someone over “trespassing” on a construction site.
“Not rot in prison over a hammer.”
I think the overall situation was a bit more than stealing a hammer but, okay.
You've gone full Binger. That is a video artifact. There was no stealing on film from the dude nor did he have a hammer.
“Unlike you, I’m not willing to kill someone over “trespassing” on a construction site.”
If you guys think this was about stealing a hammer, or trespassing on a construction sight, you are believing the main stream press. Do some research, watch the trial. The situation was not what you think.
They did not identify themselves as police officers or tell Arbery what they wanted. The only comment we know for sure, from the statement the McMichael's made to the police and which was confirmed by the younger McMichael on the stand, was made by the elder McMichael and that was an order to stop or he would blow Arbery's head off.
Wanna guess how that would have turned out? Who the hell grabs the barrel of a shotgun anyways?
Someone in fear of their life and desperate enough to try it.
Arbery's crime being what exactly?
“The situation was not what you think.”
So what is the situation?
Yes, the black guy grabbed the barrel of the shotgun. That’s because the guy holding the shotgun pointed it at him with the intention of holding him against his will.
I was responding as to how they could try to claim self defense to the other poster.
I’m not defending them. The whole situation should not have occurred.
What I wrote was based on what I recalled from the case based on dozens if not hundreds of threads in early 2020 on this incident.
I was too busy following the Rittenhouse trial to bother trying to follow the case against these three losers.
you are correct, what was initially reported here on FR was incorrect - Arbery had no hammer, he wasn't "jogging" in work boots, and he didn't steal from the construction site.
And without going back to search for my comments, I hope I was getting flamed constantly for voicing the opinion that the McMichaels should go to jail for manslaughter at minimum.
“Arbery’s crime being what exactly?”
I’m not going to do your research. You’re believing everything you read and hear on the mainstream news. What I’m seeing here from you and others is the equivalent of people still believing Kyle shot black people. Do you have any idea of what was happening in that neighborhood? If not, why do I know and you do not?
Also, the right to arrest does not include the right to use or threatened to use deadly force for the commission of a non-violent crime. So, while the defendants arguably would have had the right to go up to Arbery and simply grab him, they never had the right to point a gun at him to compel him to stay in their custody.
Harmless error on the instruction.
“So what is the situation?”
You have such a strong opinion about the case but you don’t know what was going on? Really?
You said I don’t know, you jackass.
Absolutely not. Self defense. Watch the video and you’ll see that Arbery attacks the guy with the shotgun.
He had a right to try to disarm the guy who pointed the shotgun at him.
