If he commutes this guy, he should then commute everyone else on Death Row.

“ Electing liberals comes with a cost. How long before he makes parole? The big step to free him has been taken. The rest of the steps are going to be a lot smaller.

Not thinking before posting comes at a cost. 🤪

He’s not a liberal is there is no possibility of parole ever.

Pursuant to Article 6, Section 10 of the Oklahoma Constitution, Governor Kevin Stitt today issued Executive Order 2021-25 to commute the death sentence of Julius Jones, who was tried and convicted for the first-degree murder of Paul Howell, to life imprisonment without the possibility for parole, on the condition that he shall never again be eligible to apply for, be considered for, or receive any additional commutation, pardon, or parole,” according the executive order.

1999, also had reaction to Julius Jones’ sentence commutation.

“We know Governor Stitt had a difficult decision to make. We take comfort that his decision affirms the guilt of Julius Jones and that he shall not be eligible to apply for, or be considered for, a commutation, pardon or parole for the remained of his life”

The likelihood of him actually serving life without parole is about as sure of a thing as his execution was about 6 months ago.

Here’s a guy in Texas. The Sorosite DA got him off of death row, and then the parole board sprung him from prison.

Compasionate early release? Racial Reparations? Victim’s close relatives pass away? All excuses used to get killers out of prison.

And the Bishop of Rome will probably stick his nose in it at some point.

This isn’t Texas. Parole board already recommended life with parole and that was denied - permanently.

As a condition of granting clemency, Stitt ordered that Jones shall never be eligible to apply for or be considered for a commutation, pardon or parole for the rest of his life.

Stitt’s decision veers slightly from the Pardon and Parole Board’s recommendation to reduce Jones’ sentence to life in prison with the possibility of parole. Under that scenario, Jones would have immediately been eligible for parole on his murder conviction.

“A lot of people don’t believe in the death penalty.”

They should give it a try, interview the survivors to see if they’ve got new information to share.

Yea, you’re probably right. I guess I missed the part about the perp being a white conservative. Sorry.

I like the 0% recidivism rate.

Stitt ordered that Jones shall never be eligible to apply for or be considered

Which is only good until the next order from a governor. Not binding on the current governor or any more liberal successors.
