American officials are unsure why Russian President Vladimir Putin is building up military forces near the border with eastern Ukraine but view it as another example of troubling military moves that demand Moscow's explanation, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Wednesday.
“We’ll continue to call on Russia to act responsibly and be more transparent on the buildup of the forces around on the border of Ukraine,” Austin told a Pentagon news conference, adding, “We’re not sure exactly what Mr. Putin is up to.”
He said the troop buildup has the Pentagon's attention and that the Russians should be “more transparent about what they're up to.”
Austin also criticized Russia for using a missile to shoot down one of its old satellites on Monday, an action that created hundreds of pieces of space debris that U.S. officials have said will be a long-term hazard to space operations.

Combine these two actions and I do not think the Russians can be any more transparent. They will do as they want and Biden and the rest of the woke world can’t do a thing about it.
Cause a fuss and the Russians will shut down space, see if you can get along without satellites. These are not one shot weapons, they become shotgun blasts that keep circling the Earth for years.
They are inside their own country, and positioned relative to the expansive NATO threat and the Ukrainian nazi threat. And they have been invaded 3 or 4 times from that direction.

NATO has moved 800 miles to the east, and over a wide front. Their statements and activities indicate their goal is to go all the way to the Russian border. That’s the threat.
And Right Sector and Svoboda and Banderists are quite nazi, even if you don’t like it.
NATO has not "moved 800 miles to the east". Former soviet union countries, scared of Putin's belligerency have all applied for membership to NATO.
NATO is NOT an offensive pact threatening Russia. There is NO NATO army stationed anywhere near Russia, that's a credible threat of invading Russia.
There are ultra-right parties in every country. In Ukraine in the last election, all the ultra-right parties in Ukraine received a total of only 2% of the vote.
In the last election in Russia the communists received almost 20% of the vote.
