Problem is he let the guy yesterday have two guesses on the answer. He says no that’s the wrong answer and stares at him. Then the guy takes another guess and its right.
Alex did not do that
And its favoritism otherwise everyone gets two guesses.

I think if you get the correct answer within the time limit then it’s ok. I think the offscreen checkers would have invalidated the answer if it were outside the rules.

I sort of agree with you but the example yesterday wasn’t clear cut since it wasn’t a totally different guess... I can’t remember it exactly but I think it was ‘an elaboration to the initial guess’. Regardless, if I saw it again I might feel differently about it and this sort of discretionary issue comes up from time to time... and that includes when Alex was the host.
All the hosts have had their moments when they’ve ruled in ways that I thought were incorrect... it seems like something or other comes up every few days.
He hadn’t ruled the guy incorrect as yet when the contestant changed his answer.
