I have watched almost all of the trial. I have two question maybe someone can answer:
1. Why are the two detectives in this case sitting next to the prosecutors every day of the trial?? All previous court cases I have watched, the detectives are on the witness stand, say what they need to say, and then leave the courtroom.
2. Must the Defense give prior notice to the Prosecutors that they will be placing the defendant on the witness stand?
Detectives are there because this is a politically motivated show trial and they want them watching to assist. Notice none of the rioters or looters have been charged. Just this kid trying to defend the town.
Defense said in opening that the jury would hear from Kyle.
1. I think the one detective is there because the weapon is located there and it is he that gets it when requested.
2. I don’t know the answer to that one but they did announce at the beginning that we would be hearing from the defendant.
No. In fact, defendnant might surprise his own counsel "at the last minute" and insist on taking the stand.
