Lefty isn't going to be charged, and it is not a crime to lie to the public or to the press - short of defamation.

But it is a crime to lie under oath in the courtroom. And if he's making public statements different from his testimony, how does the court know his testimony was truthful? Especially when his public statements explicitly claim that courtroom testimony was false?!

The assumption is that what he says in court is true, and what he says out of court is not.

Even if what he says out of court is “I lied in court.”

Did Binger pay Karen to sneeze right there so that he could try to convince people that he really does have a heart and cares?

“Oh Karen, are you all right? Do you need a tissue?”

To answer your question directly, the court doesn’t know. But forpurposes of the trial, only what is uttered in court has play.

Either side COULD, if it wanted to, dra him back into trial on motion to the judge. Any charging for perjury is up to the same DA office that is protecting the liar.
