Nuremberg was also conducted essentially at the point of a gun. <
It was imho the right thing to do given the horrors the Nazi medical establishment visited upon the people, but at the end of the day it required men with guns to ensure it happened.
That is why I use the analogy of the wife beating husband.
Similarities include:
—Gas-lighting and blaming the victim
—Authority figure who “gives permission” or takes it away
—Institution protected under the law but abused by one party
—Requires intervention of outside party to stop the abuse
—Sometimes goes very badly with one party doing a “final solution” on the other party when outside intervention is not possible or fails
