A better question might have been this: "In January 2020, before COVID took off, the Trump administration was projected to run a $1 trillion deficit. What cuts would you have made to spending to remove that deficit and balance the budget?"

It's isn't the revenue that's the problem. It's the out-of-control spending that is.

The Laffer curve showed at which point there was the optimum taxes and revenue.
